Overview

Strategic Priorities represent your organization’s key focus areas. By linking roadmap items to priorities, you can demonstrate how work contributes to your product strategy.

What Are Strategic Priorities?

Strategic priorities are high-level themes or objectives that guide your product direction:

Creating Strategic Priorities

Open Strategy Settings

Navigate to the Strategy section in your workspace.

Add Priority

Click + Add Strategic Priority.

Configure

Enter a name, description, and select a color.

Linking Items to Priorities

From Item Details

  1. Open an item’s detail panel
  2. Click the Priority dropdown
  3. Select a strategic priority

Via Bulk Edit

  1. Select multiple items
  2. Click Edit Selected
  3. Set the priority for all selected items

Grouping by Priority

View your roadmap organized by strategic priority:

Timeline View

  1. Click the Group by selector
  2. Choose Strategic Priority
  3. Items appear in priority-based swimlanes

List View

  1. Click the Group by selector
  2. Choose Strategic Priority
  3. Items are grouped under priority headers

Managing Priorities

Editing

  1. Open Strategy settings
  2. Click on a priority
  3. Update name, description, or color
  4. Save changes

Reordering

Drag and drop priorities to change their display order.

Archiving

When a priority is no longer active:
  1. Open the priority
  2. Click Archive
  3. Archived priorities are hidden but preserved for historical reference
Items linked to archived priorities retain their association—you can view them using filters.

Reporting & Visibility

Priority Dashboard

View high-level metrics for each priority:
  • Number of items
  • Completion percentage
  • Timeline distribution

Filtering

Use filters to focus on specific priorities:
  1. Open the filter bar
  2. Click Priority
  3. Select one or more priorities

Best Practices

Too many priorities dilutes focus. Aim for 3-5 active priorities.
Reassess priorities quarterly to ensure they reflect current strategy.
Use priorities in stakeholder communications to show strategic alignment.
